Our client is a well-established tax and bookkeeping firm with over 25 years of experience serving individuals and small businesses. The firm is committed to delivering high-quality, client-focused tax services built on integrity, professionalism, and long-term relationships.

Position Summary
The Senior Tax Manager will play a key leadership role within the tax department, supporting both the tax team and bookkeeping staff throughout tax season and beyond. This position involves high-level tax review, client engagement, staff supervision, and operational support within a collaborative office environment.
The successful candidate will also work closely with the current Senior Tax Operations Manager to ensure a smooth transition and continuity of service.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Review & Compliance
Review T1, T3, and unincorporated small business tax returns at a high level
Apply basic knowledge of T2 corporate tax returns
Ensure accuracy, compliance, and quality of all reviewed filings
Client Engagement
Meet with clients to review and explain tax returns and financial situations
Provide clear guidance on tax options and implications
Support onboarding of new clients and explain firm services
Team Leadership & Support
Supervise and support bookkeepers and tax preparers
Provide final review of tax returns, bookkeeping, and year-end statements
Respond to staff questions and provide technical guidance
Contribute to staff development and mentoring
Operational Support
Assist with general office duties as required
Ensure smooth workflow during tax season and year-end periods
Support efficient delivery of tax and bookkeeping services
Leadership & Culture
Foster a collaborative and positive team environment
Demonstrate strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
Provide and receive constructive feedback professionally

Transition Support
Work closely with the current Senior Tax Operations Manager during transition
Ensure continuity of service quality and operational consistency
Qualifications
Minimum 3+ years of experience in income tax preparation and review
Bookkeeping experience required
CPA designation considered an asset
Previous managerial or supervisory experience is an asset
Strong knowledge of accounting software including Profile, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar
Advanced Excel skills and strong technical accounting ability
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proven leadership ability with a focus on mentoring and team development
Must have access to a vehicle (in-person role required)
Compensation
Salary starting from $70,000 per year
