Our client is a respected oral and maxillofacial surgery practice dedicated to providing exceptional surgical care to patients of all ages. Their services include tooth extractions, dental implant placement, biopsies, TMJ/TMD treatment, corrective jaw surgery, and sedation-assisted procedures. Position Overview

We are currently recruiting for a highly skilled and compassionate Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to join our client's growing team of oral healthcare professionals.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced nurse who is passionate about patient care and interested in working alongside a progressive oral surgeon. The successful candidate will support complex surgical procedures within a Windsor-based clinic as well as affiliated local hospitals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs and pre-operative evaluations.

  • Gather and document subjective and objective patient information.

  • Prepare and maintain procedural and surgical areas.

  • Assist surgeons and interdisciplinary teams during oral and maxillofacial procedures.

  • Monitor patients throughout surgical procedures and during recovery.

  • Provide post-operative care instructions and medication education.

  • Administer medications through various routes and monitor patient responses.

  • Support consultation, treatment, procedures, and follow-up care.

  • Assist with prescription coordination and clinical workflow management.

  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and recovery.

  • Triage in-office patients and urgent care requests.

  • Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation.

  • Coordinate with external healthcare providers as required.

  • Ensure confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).

  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience.

  • Surgical nursing experience is considered a strong asset.

  • Current BLS certification or willingness to obtain.

  • ACLS certification or willingness to obtain.

  • PALS certification or willingness to obtain.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of dental and surgical procedures and terminology.

  • Ability to start and maintain IV lines.

  • Ability to interpret EKGs.

  • Excellent patient assessment and critical thinking skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.

  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

  • Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-focused care.

  • Interest in learning new technologies and advancements in surgical and digital dentistry.
